Synopsis
Charlie Gray, an associate with law firm Baltimore, Travis & Long, is disappointed when she is passed over for a partnership, which is given to the lesser-qualified Brendan Willis instead.

Unable to beat the senior partners' jobs for the boys mentality, Charlie is even more surprised when the firm employs Rick Steele as the associates' new assistant. One of Charlie's high profile clients suggests that there is something suspicious about him, but she quickly dismisses the idea.

When Charlie eventually realises that she is attracted to the mysterious Rick, she tries to forget about him, believing him to be having an affair. But everything changes when she is suddenly framed for stealing expensive antiques...

About The Author
Sue Varteg was born in England, emigrated to Australia with her husband, and after leaving the workforce, wrote The Boss and I, which was broadcast as a radio serial. She was commissioned later to write a children's book, Mitch 'n Mate, but the book, though accepted, was never published.

Sue has previously published two romance novels, Danielle in the Lion's Den and Twist of Fate, both as e-books, Ye Gods, a tongue-in-cheek fantasy, and Infinity is a Big Place, which is a printed collection of her short fiction.

What she could not imagine him doing was dealing with some of the more mundane tasks a typist was asked to perform, and she smiled to herself as she visualised George asking him to make a cup of coffee, or herself handing over her cup for him to wash.

No, she told herself firmly, they could never employ a man like him as a typist, legal or otherwise. Such obvious masculinity was bound to end in conflict of one kind or another eventually...
