Synopsis
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Secretariat has estimated that 60% of the world's wealth is held in offshore shell companies, with many of them involved with sophisticated money-laundering networks.

An international information bureau was established to track the millions of unseen and untouchable funds as they streamed through a constantly shifting, twisting, turning web of electronic media.

To fight this financial fraud, a corporate lawyer joins forces with a mysterious person from the Isle of Man called The Manx Deemster, who is head of The Caine League - a unique group of altruists.

The Manx Deemster is a fictional account of the unconventional detection methods undertaken to uncover the identities of criminals and their illegal activities, which remain hidden behind a carefully orchestrated veil of deceit.

About The Author
Robert Bartlett was born in Sydney, Australia. In his early career he was a member of the Royal Australian Air Force.

After resigning from military service, he was then employed in the business and commercial market where he held senior management positions with a number of multi-national organisations.

Over the years and in his spare time, Robert wrote regular articles for various community newspapers. Then, in 2005, he concentrated full time on developing his writing skills and completed his first book, Róisin, which was published in 2007.

From The Book
'You see,' Vera said, 'when I started to research and investigate this whole cape of conspiracy a couple of years ago, I had no idea how large this criminal network was or how far its tentacles reached. I now understand there are multi-national organizations infecting many of Ireland's establishments, and this particular network is only one of many around the world being supported by numerous countries and governments, and to ensure their share is maintained they ignore this illegal activity so they can continue to enjoy the millions, if not billions, of dollars they receive each year in revenue.

'Why do you do it, Vera?' James asked. 'It's so dangerous and, as you said yourself, you're constantly receiving death threats. Is it worth losing your life?'

'Don't get me wrong,' Vera said, 'I'm always looking over my shoulder and have plenty of sleepless nights, but I'm not on my own as there're quite a few honest people around; individuals who are willing to risk their life in order to remove the blindfold of Lady Justice. To show you that I'm not on my own in this fight I wanted you to meet one of those honest men. He's been fighting this war a lot longer than me, but for different reasons; he's fighting to redeem his country's reputation.’

'Who is this man, Vera?'

'He's Alistair Allobrogicus, a Manx Deemster from the Isle of Man.'
