About The Author
Rosalia Wong was born in Malaysia, migrated to Australia in 1982, and grew up in Brisbane, Australia. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Art from Newcastle University.

Rosalia has previously published Education: A Study Of Teaching English As A Foreign Language In Large Classes In China, writing as Rosalia Lei.

She is currently working on the Kimberley Shu series of novellas, the first of which is due to be published soon.

It took the bus one hour to reach Liaozhou. Eliza got down from the bus, but was quickly lost in the crowd and had no idea where the shopping centre was. She stopped and asked a young girl. The girl told her the exact directions in Mandarin.

Eliza understood, although the speech of the young girl was faster than she was used to. She followed the directions until she reached Liaozhou shopping centre.

Before entering, she was stopped by a few hawkers who were selling toys, vegetables, clothing and food. They were all calling out to her and explaining their merchandise, but Eliza barely understood their complicated languages. She rejected all of their items and rushed through the main entrance.
