Synopsis
When light creeps into the shadowy recesses of our past and illuminates what is hiding in the corners, there will be consequences...
In a tiny remote rural town, a man finds a strange object in his yard, an object that appears benign, but its presence will soon have disastrous implications for the entire
planet as desperate authorities seek its recovery.
The man is a bitter, disillusioned loner, driven to despair by the life he has lived and the road that fate has set him upon, so, despite not knowing its intent or purpose, he
has no hesitation in hiding his mysterious visitor, which seems equally unwilling to be discovered. But as events unfold at an alarming rate and humanity is driven towards the
brink of oblivion, the man is sent on an incredible journey as his past, present, future and all that he had believed about his life is torn asunder and his destiny remade. He
is forced, unwillingly, to acknowledge the demons from his distant past and to once again face a monstrous horror that reaches out to him from beyond time and space...a horror
that he had thought to be long buried.
Dark Corridors of Time is a skilful blend of science fiction, horror, thriller and a scathing indictment on our behaviour as a species from the author of The Finger of God. It is an apocalyptic tale of regret, lost opportunity, anger, frustration and perhaps, ultimate redemption and the effect that
our choices can have on the destiny of us as individuals and globally.
About The Author
Keith Williams was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland (hence the Scottish connections in his books) and emigrated to Australia in 1956 as a
three-year-old on the good ship SS Australia. Growing up in Geelong provided much of the basis for his first novel Dark Beckoning.
He graduated with a Diploma of Arts in 1974 and spent many years as a Production Designer in television, working on shows such as Hey, Hey, it's Saturday, Sale of the
Century, The Paul Hogan Show and many others.
Keith then worked as a Kitchen Designer before moving to rural Victoria to commit to the care of his elderly parents. He currently works in the hospitality industry to
subsidise his love of reading and writing.
From The Book
I came to believe that the only proof of alien visitation to good old earth would be when a ship lands in Washington or London or Canberra...
But then I found the hole...
It was a perfectly round hole in the dirt, and when I say perfectly round, that's what I mean; the hole looked as if it was cut by a laser beam or something and it was a
perfect twelve inches in diameter, because I measured it later. Not three hundred millimetres like in the damn metric system, but exactly twelve inches. There was no dirt thrown
up around the area like you expect from a crater if the thing had dropped from space, because that was my first thought... space junk. Hell, stuff was falling from orbit all the
damn time; it's a wonder more of it didn't land on us...
So, here I am on my haunches looking at this perfectly round, twelve-inch hole in the dirt of my yard. I was still pondering where all the dirt from the hole could have gone
and was considering the possibility of a hoax, but none of the locals would have the imagination for this sort of prank. Besides, nothing I knew of could have cut a hole like
this...
Anyways, I looked down into the hole and saw...
