This book is unique with its explanations of basic bookkeeping in that it doesn't rely on pages of text, but uses flow charts, overviews and
graphics instead, assisting business owners to better understand the bookkeeping process.
Whether you use manual ledgers or digital spreadsheets, this handy guide will help to save on bookkeeping and accounting fees and make it a little easier for owners to
converse with their accountants about their business practices.
Covering a wealth of topics, including invoicing, creditors and debtors, profit and loss, and banking reconciliation, Bookkeeping Basics is also an ideal companion for
students studying bookkeeping, given its easy-to-follow layouts and examples.
Basic bookkeeping is a universal language, which once learned, will prove to be an invaluable tool for students and business owners alike.
About The Author
Valerie Christensen was born in 1944, completed Year 10 at school, and is the mother of five adult children.
In 1995, Valerie enrolled as a part-time student at the Central Queensland Institute of TAFE where she gained competency in Graphics, Desktop Publishing, Certificate III in
Financial Services and Diploma of Accounting.
Throughout her education and training, Valerie often had difficulty understanding Debits and Credits and the Trial Balance. In frustration, she finally made a Chart of
Accounts that separated Debits from Credits, and drew lines, clearly showing just why Debits equal Credits. Her publication, Bookkeeping Basics evolved from the notes
that she had prepared for herself whilst completing the Manual Bookkeeping Modules at TAFE.
